Field Notes

Description:

small gray cap and stem mushrooms. Caps 1/2 in. to 3/4 in. diameter. Gills light gray. Stem almost same color as cap.

Habitat:

Growing in clusters on dead wood (deciduous?) in Prospect Park Brooklyn

Notes:

does smell distinctly like radishes, but it's clustered (and since Pink Mycena grow singly it's questionable, no?)

Species ID Suggestions

Comments (1)

perhaps this is Mycena pura. Nothing else comes close. the wood substrate is off-putting, but maybe it's really growing in the ground and fruiting up through the bark
