Field Notes
Description:
White crappies at the Tulsa Aquarium, despite being captive you can still find these in Kansas. They're a fairly common freshwater fish, they have a huge range in North America. Crappies don't move to eat they tend to just sit in one spot with their mouth open. That's pretty interesting.
Habitat:
White crappies are native to the Great Lakes, Hudson Bay, and the Mississippi River basins expanding from New York and southern Ontario westward to South Dakota and southward to Texas.
