Field Notes

Description:

Periodical cicada. Every 17 years. 1 - 1.25 inches long (2.54 - 3.17 cm). Red eyes. Black dorsal thorax. Translucent wings with orange and yellow veins. Abdomen and legs are orange and black.

Habitat:

Meadow with abundant flowers and weeds.

Notes:

I have only found one so far.
