Description:

Also called Paddybird, they appear short and stocky when hunting hunched like here, but in reality they sport long necks. Mainly buff in colour.

Habitat:

I returned to the same pond where I saw a pair of these herons few days ago, and found a much larger group of them - fifteen to twenty birds this time. Seen in urban area in densely populated Cox's Bazar town, hunting in a small (and very dirty unfortunately) pond.
