Field Notes

Description:

Large spider, not sure if some or all of the white markings are from plaster/paint as the room was being decorated.

Habitat:

Found inside the house, in rural area in hills just outside Bandung, Java, Indonesia

Notes:

The only modifications made to the picture was to crop them so that the spider was clearer... 'cos I was just a bit scared to get my hands in too close.

done some real close ups on some other photos I have of it and the white is globules of paint attached to the hairs... so this spider doesn't have the white markings naturally, it has in fact been accidentally decorated :D

also, its gait as it ran away was a run and a jump- quite comical to watch, as it neither ran nor jumped but did a bit of both.
