Field Notes

Description:

Female. Wingspan: 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm). Reddish/brown and white with spots and other gorgeous markings. One eye spot on each wing. Found on house and extended my finger and it attached. Does not have mouth parts therefore does not eat.

Habitat:

Near meadow and open woodlands

Very gorgeous! Someday, I want to have a beautiful moth on my finger like you!
She was very cooperative and stayed on my finger for 30 minutes. I took a walk thru my meadow and showed her to my nice neighbors! Thanks everyone!
Lovely moth. I've seen C. angulifera in my area, but I'd love to see one of these up close!
