Field Notes

Description:

I don't know what this is. Coming out of white pine needles @ EcoVillage @ Floyd Bennett Field. They are super fragile, can barely pick em up without them falling apart. The detailed minutely grooved margin and toned zoned cap is something spectacular. Dark brick-red center and then lightens toward the margin to almost white. Graceful looking mushroom. bulbous bottom.

Habitat:

white pine needle ground.

Notes:

it's been raining a lot.
