Field Notes

Description:

About 60mm across; cap shiny, orange-red, depressed at centre, shallow domed; stipe same colour as top, thick, fibrous, opaque; gills a paler version of the orange-red, slightly decurrent, adnexed.

Habitat:

Growing from very damp soil with all sorts of forest debris. Several within the immediate area but not close together. In eucalyptus rain forest in national park.
