Field Notes

Description:

A brownish flat toad. Broad dark stripe down each side of dorsum, each with light stripes just above. Light stripe down the middle of the back. Bufo nebulifer grows to an adult size of 5-10 cm (2-4 in).

Habitat:

Found this large toad just after dark in the center green space that has a landscaped sewer pump station.

Notes:

This one is 3.5 to 4 inches or 9 or 10 cm. It was alone when I first spotted it, but on my return walk, 3 smaller ones had joined it.
