Field Notes

Description:

Gorgeous black, white, and red bird. Male head is all black, wings are black and white, breast is rose red, and white underside.

Habitat:

deciduous forests, deciduous-coniferous forests, thickets, and semi-open habitats across the NE United States, into SE and central Canada.

Notes:

Second time we have had a Rosebreasted Grosbeak at the feeder. Showed up for the first time last year at about this time of year.
