Field Notes

Description:

The adult is all black with a white patch on the wings. The bill is red and there is an orange shield on the face. There are two babies, and they are black fuzzballs with orange bills and a red patch on the head. These are my first baby birds to ever see and they were adorable :)

Habitat:

Found in a swampy pond. I check on them everyday to make sure they haven't become an Alligator snack since this pond is full of alligators.
