Field Notes

Description:

This Harris's Hawk is currently at the VINS rehabilitation center in VT. It is not native to VT. VINS rehabs raptures. Also started to rehab songbirds. This hawk is also used to educate the public, note the leg leathers. A black Buteo with a white rump and white trail exposed by a very wide black band. Perched close shows chestnut colored areas on the body and a shite band at the end of the tail.

Habitat:

S. Tex occasionally in LA and Miss.

Notes:

Birds at the Rehab are either hit by cars, caught by cats/other birds, hit windows of buildings, and others.

I am having my computer upgraded and will not have it for a week or so. I am posting the images now so I get them on Project Noah. Then I can add more information later. I just didn't have the time. Thanks.
The hawk is tethered. Perhaps you can add a "description" to tell the community more about this captive spotting (where="habitat"). Thanks
