Field Notes

Description:

Small (~ 10 cm long) brown juvenile rabbit

Habitat:

Temperate wooded river bottom land in the western Great Plains.

Notes:

Spotted outside the door of a bathhouse in a campground near the Platte River. It "froze" when spotted, but the background made that survival technique ineffective. When given room, this little guy scampered off and disappeared into tall grass nearby.
