Field Notes

Description:

Usually I find orange tiger lily flowers, but this one was yellow. It had orange-brown spots on the recurving petals, and six large orange-purple stamens hanging below the petals. This was the only lily plant growing in the area.

Habitat:

Growing in a deciduous forest, next to a small pond.

Notes:

Lilium lancifolium?
