Field Notes

Description:

yellow mocassin shpaed orchid type flower with parallel striated leaf veins running the length of the leaf from tip to base. Approx 12-20 inches high. blossom the size of a walnut or slightly larger in some cases.

Habitat:

Woodland roadside ditch near Tamarac NWR in and near a deciduous aspen and maple dominant area not far from a praire pothole.
