Field Notes
Description:
My first Membracid nymph! Green body with a distinct hump on the thorax. Long, pink "tail", pink legs, dark pinkish-brown stripes on each side of the body, dark pink eyes. Brown on the crest of the hump. Feeds on Oak. Was probably knocked out of the trees by a very windy and rainy storm (note the water on the tent).
Habitat:
Wooded campground in Sears Bellows County Park, New York.
Notes:
Membracids are so interesting!
