Field Notes

Description:

Peregrine Falcon of California is subspecies "anatum"
Dark grey to black on most of the upperparts with noticebly dark mustache.
Chest is white and dark barring.
Fledgling and Juveniles have more of a streaking than barring cheeks and underside.

Habitat:

Some may like near marshes but frequents human habitats like skyscrapers, bridges and power poles.

Notes:

These two is what I spotted from a family that recently fledged. When I spotted them both were fighting to be at the top of the tree. Nearby is a bridge and riser with two towers. This was their home.

Thank you again Irina
Super!I can see the habits of birds!!
Thank you Jemma and Christine. There were four fledglings in this brood but only spotted 2.
Thank you Smith Zoo. Did you see the 6 White-tailed Kite Fledglings I spotted. The images were not as great because I was 300 or 400ft away. But to find all 6 in the same tree was a site.
Great find and series Jellis! Thanks for sharing!
