Field Notes

Description:

Roughly Red-Winged Blackbird sized, maybe a bit rounder. I'm guessing it's a female blackbird or cowbird of some sort. I would have thought I could find some kind of name based on the beak being yellow on the bottom and black on the top, but I didn't. :( It should be too early in the season for it to be any kind of juvenile.

Habitat:

Up in a tree in a Chicago pond/savannah ecosystem.

Species ID Suggestions

House Sparrow (female)

Passer domesticus

Comments (1)

Hey Liam, thanks for the suggestion, but it was like two or three times as big as a sparrow. It was a good sized bird.
