Field Notes
Description:
Small white caterpillar with dark markings. Red or reddish-brown head, some with an additional dark area just behind the head. Sparse white hairs.
Habitat:
Sears Bellows County Park, New York. Wooded campground, oak and pitch pine mostly.
Notes:
A good number of these were found walking around on the trash barrels after a wind/rain storm. I am guessing they were probably knocked out of the oak trees.
