Description:

I first noticed a glint of green moving in the ground cover. At first I thought it was an ant carrying a chunk of green, and then I noticed the eyes. The pictures I took don't do justice to the brightness of its green head. It was moving its abdomen in a way that made me think it was an ant.

I later found out it was actually orsima ichneumon and it is a wasp mimic rather than an ant mimic.

Habitat:

Secondary jungle near a river.

Notes:

Jumping spider that mimics a wasp
