Field Notes

Description:

A medium sized tree. Flowers are mimosid, the fruit is legume which opens suddenly when it ripes. The seeds are covered whith a sweet flesh (dulce, the specific name means sweet in spanish and I suspect also in Latin) which attracts dispersors such as birds and even humans.

Habitat:

Its located in wet, dry and seasonally dry tropical forests in the Yucatan Peninsula
