Description:
Spent flowers and open seed capsule.
Habitat:
Bush growing on east-facing slope above lake.
Notes:
Seed capsule opens explosively to disperse seeds. This occurs in October-November at approximately the same time as the flowers open. In late spring, the new seed capsules will begin to develop from fertilized flowers.
