Field Notes

Description:

Notice the gray scaling on the dorsal forewing making this a Juvenal's as opposed to a Horace's Duskywing or Northern Cloudywing which both look similar.

Habitat:

Marshland next to a freshwater lake.

Notes:

This was my first spotting of this particular species which is always very exciting for me! I was also pleased to get the proboscis both curled and extended in the first two pictures.
