Western Kingbird
Tyrannus verticalis
33.1538, -97.0197
Field Notes
Description:
Adults are grey-olive on the upperparts with a grey head and a dark line through the eyes; the underparts are light becoming light orange-yellow on the lower breast and belly. They have a long black tail with white outer feathers.
Habitat:
This one is sitting deep in the top branches of the pine trees. Its mate is across the street in a Post Oak. Several pairs nested in these pine trees lining the main road in the development. I think this is the male because it is larger and brighter than the other across the street.
