It's definitely not M. cassini, although M. septendecim, and M. septendecula look quite similar in this case.
Terrific! This is one of the Brood II 17-year cicadas. If you still have this cicada, could you try taking a photo of the underside? The underside usually is characteristic of one of the three possible species, M. septendecim, M. cassini, or M. septendecula.
