Field Notes

Description:

Fragrant white flowering bush. Has 5 petals in a starlike pattern. They smell great and I'd like to know what they are.

The vine does have small leaves on it. It grabs everything it touches. But the white flowered bush that was suggested as dogwood may be something else. As I understand it, dogwood has four petals. These have 5. I'll keep doing research on it. Thanks for the info! :)
The vine is a Virginia Creeper if there are pads on the tendrils. That means if the windy things that grab the fence or wall etc has pads it is a Virginia Creeper. If no pads on the tendrils then its a Thicket Creeper, also called a False Virginia Creeper or Woodbine or Grape Woodbine,
I am pretty sure it is a dogwood. I just saw one in Utah yesterday. There is some other vine growing up in the dogwood.
