Field Notes

Description:

Plover similar to the Killdeer. Single dark ring around the neck. Brown back of head, back to tail. White underside, patch over eye and white band above the dark ring. Faded white stripe over eyes. Bill is stubby orange with a dark tip. Legs are a yellowish color.

Habitat:

Spends mostly near shorelines.

Notes:

These were spotted on the walkway and rails of a wooden bridge over a marsh and slough
