Wildlife Spotting

Leafy single stemmed plant, I think it had blu or purple flowers, but it's gone to seed so there are fuzzy pods all over it. My mother passed away before her garden started regrowing, so she isn't here to tell me what she planted and what she has growing. I know she was into herbs, but I don't recognize a lot of the things that are popping up throughout the garden!
