Field Notes

Description:

The barred pattern on the breast is distinctive. Rich rusty brown on top. Sparrow or finch-like beak.

Habitat:

Kept as cage birds but free living populations exist. A pair was sitting on the electric wire nearby and one flew away as I approached. This is the other one. Sexes are similar. Seen them roost in Polyalthis longifolia trees.
