Field Notes

Description:

Many shades of green, chestnut brown, black, touch of white...a riot of colours and a trilling call that is melodious.

Habitat:

At night they sit side by side almost huddling on a branch...never been able to photograph this because there is never enough light and they disperse at dawn.

Notes:

It hits the poor bee repeatedly before eating it. Apparently this way the sting falls off and the bird can ingest the bee withing risking hurt.
