Field Notes

Description:

Large female aquatic frog - bright green and light brown. Dark brown stripes and upper abdomen design of white and brown pattern. 5 inches long. (127 mm) Food: Variety including insects, fish, tadpoles, small turtles and snakes.

Habitat:

Man-made pond in the yard. Naturally occuring. Probably came from natural water sources in woods. Pond, stream, brook.

Notes:

When I got too close she went into the water and I took some more photos. Tadpoles shown in 2 photos are American Toad tadpoles.
