Description:

Individual coastal shrubs - native coastal heath - North Head, Sydney Harbour National Park. PS: Many years later and I think I have managed to ID this spotting. Allocasuarina paludosa, commonly known as the "swamp she-oak" or "scrub she-oak", is a woody shrub of the family Casuarinaceae. It is endemic to south-eastern Australia. (Wikipedia)

Habitat:

Coastal plateau, windy environment with moist salty air, sandy and sandstone soils. North Head, Sydney Harbour National Park.
