Field Notes

Description:

This opossum was by itself hanging on the tree. Rather than risk getting close due to the fact that they could easily , I snapped a few pictures before we continued on.

Habitat:

A wooded area that has only been affected by a couple of ponds being added and a four-wheeler being driven through as well as constant human interaction around the spring-fed, man-made ponds.

Notes:

My fiancee and I went to set up a trail cam to see if he could catch pictures of a beaver he had heard when deer hunting (the snowstorm made that impossible. It filled it up with pictures of falling snow) in the woods behind his parents home. I really hadn't expecting to get pictures of animals other than our dog, and he hadn't even noticed the opossum until I pointed it out to him when he's usually the one pointing things out to me! These woods are mostly native, though two small ponds were added a couple of years ago.
