Description:

Libellulidae; Diplacodes trivialis (Rambur, 1842). "Diplacodes trivialis is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae known as the chalky percher or ground skimmer." Wikipedia. The predominantly blue specimen shown here is a male and the mainly yellow/gold one is a female.

Habitat:

Spotted these two Ground Skimmers by the roadside at the edge of a patch of forest, near a stream.

Notes:

Both male and female shown here were spotted in the same place at the same time.
