Field Notes

Description:

Tiny bird with a mossy green back, needle-like beak and an extraordinarily loud "voice."

Habitat:

Trees where it can catch insects...loves the mango tree (maybe because of the ants on it)...also nests there. The nest is an incredible piece of engineering.

Notes:

Stitches together the broad leaves and stuffs the nest with soft material such as silkcotton fibres from a burst pod etc. This nest was on a mango tree.
