Field Notes

Description:

This salamander is lungless and breaths through its skin. Brown to pinkish in color and can reach 14.5 cm in total length.

Habitat:

Spotted at the edge of a wetland in a mixed forest. Range along the west coast of N.A.

Many are aware of fires, floods and drought but so few think about all the smaller life forms that suffer so much....it is so sad. I sincerely hope it isn't the case with this one.
Thanks for commenting Leuba. I'm not sure of age but it is possible it is being effected by an on going drought we are having.
Looks so fragile- like a new born, this one. Head looks strong though. Thanks for sharing this. I would love to see one someday.
