Tule Bluet

Damselfly-Bluets and Dancers differ in one major way. The position of the wing. Dancers wings sit above the abdomen while the Bluets lay along the abdomen. Male ID is mostly by the segments of the abdomen. The Tule male is when segments 3-7 more black than blue and segments 8&9 are blue. Females are tan in color. The closest likeness is the Arroyo Bluet. Females of these two species are almost impossible to tell apart. The size is about 1.5 inches long.
