Field Notes

Description:

Brown marmorated stink bug

Habitat:

Maryland, US.

Notes:

Introduced species (from asia). Never seen these before this year, though they've apparently been here for more than a decade. They're all over the place this year. When handled, they release a very stinky, oily substance that does not wash off. Same thing goes if you smash or otherwise maul them. They are all over outside and inside and everywhere. And they stink.
