Description:

This small anole rested on a lawn sprinkler head. For a brown anole it has an orange head which was bright and distinctive and very different from the usual brown anoles around here.

Habitat:

In the backyard lawn in western Boca Raton FL, along an inland fresh water canal.

Notes:

There was nothing orange anywhere near the lizard so the color would not have been for camouflage purposes. It was surrounded by green plants.
