Field Notes

Description:

Grey mottled seal species. Short neck and legs so it spends most of the time in the water and only comes to rocky shores or islands to sleep and sun.

Habitat:

Coastline and bay

Notes:

Newborn pup left stranded on the beach. Umbilical cord still attached. Parent no where. It was rescued and taken to the Marine Mammal Center.

Thank you According to the Marine Mammal rescue it was nursed and released near where it was found
Poor baby didn't even get to know its mama. I'm glad it was rescued!
