Field Notes

Description:

Tall, wading bird with a very long neck. Feathers usually blue to gray, with a darker streak on the head just above the eye. Very distinctive, lazy flight pattern. The combination of the curved neck and the long feet held out behind as it flies make this bird unmistakable.

Habitat:

Pond.

Notes:

Unfortunately I was not able to pull my camera out soon enough to get a good shot, so I had to make do with the poor-quality photo here.
