Field Notes

Description:

Small bird with light underparts, gray wings, and a head that has white sides and a very noticeable black cap on top. Often very inquisitive, and not as skittish as many other small birds. It has a high, clear "fee-bee" call that descends (by one whole step, for the musically inclined) that it begins to perform in Spring.

Habitat:

Deciduous forest.

Notes:

The picture is very blurry, but the bird flew off before I could snap a better one.
