Habitat:

Forests from lowland to over 2000 m.

Notes:

Underwing has diagnostic broad white band near trailing edge. Commonly seen soaring above forests. Two endemic races, palawensis found in Palawan and holospilus for the rest of the country. Some authors treat holospilus as a separate species Philippine Serpent-Eagle
