Description:
From the "Field Guide to Wildflowers of Georgia and the Surrounding States" - Found in disturbed areas throughout Georgia, growing up to 8 feet tall. Stems are deeply grooved, hairy, and 4-angled. The flowers are clusters and very dense. The spiky flower clusters can grow up to 2 inches long. Flowers are tiny purple flowers but only a few on each cluster open at one time. Flowers April to November.
Habitat:
Middle Georgia - this specimen was growing on the side of a downtown road.
