Description:

5-petal pinkish purple flower with a thin stem and almost no leaves. Second photo shows a pink, 4-petal flower with yellow markings outlined in red at the base of each petal.

Habitat:

Grassy area near freshwater retention areas at Orlando Wetlands Park

Yes, it's normal...S. stellaris have reduced leaves, flowers are usually pink (can be white colored) with vivid yellow star-like markings at the base of petals

Is it normal for Sabatia stellaris to now have the markings at the base of petals? The photos I could find online seemed all have them.
