Field Notes

Description:

Small growing plant ranging from green to red. The fruit are long, curving and red about two centimeters long. The leaves are a few centimeters long, oval and quite hairy. The inflorescence is small and bright yellow. The flowers in the last image are closed. This is a type of evening primrose.

Habitat:

Chaparral along Deerweed, Showy Penstemon and Buckwheat. This plant is native to California.
