Field Notes

Description:

Small butterfly with dark gray undersides of wings. Red band lined with black and white. Additional marking along the edge of the hind wings. Small tails on the edge of the hind wings to mimic the head.

Habitat:

Sears Bellows County Park, New York. Wooded trail.
