Field Notes

Description:

Two small Mycena growing on decaying twigs that had been washed down the hill. The caps were viscid and the largest was about 5 mm wide. The cap centres had a dull brown colour which radiated towards the margin. The stipe was translucent with a ? few stiff hairs. It had a slight bulge close to a dark coloured base which was enveloped in hyphae.

Habitat:

National Park - damp Eucalytpus forest

Notes:

These mushrooms were so delicate and beautiful and any attempt at taking a shot of the gills would have destroyed them. So, unfortunately I have not shots of the underside.
