Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized primate, occupies a variety of forest types and spends 95%
of it time in the upper canopy. Diet consists of fruits, leaves and flowers, some inverts, bark, sap as well. Live in groups, primarily diurnal, mating season May-June with 1-2 young born in Sept-Oct. Life span can be 30 years.

Habitat:

This animal was photographed in Berenty Reserve in the South of Madagascar. Primarily dry spiny forest there are pockets of canopy forest in the reserve and the lemur was found there, eating a tamarind seed.
