Field Notes

Description:

Mosquitoes during blood meal.

Habitat:

Maryland, US.

Notes:

Two specimens - top and bottom. The top one was feeding on my upper arm (note how it goes from small to distended in the two photos) before meeting its demise. The lower one was feeding on my lower leg before encountering a similar fate. Incidentally, at least two others fed on me and died while I was out surveying my yard for anything new to post here. Anything for science!
